If you are visiting the gorgeouss lake town of Udaipur and are wondering where to head to , you must visit the sparkling Jaisamand Lake.This is also called the Dhebar Lake it is said that there was a small puddle or lake which is called Dhebar Lake it is said that Maharana Jayasingh's childhood name was Dhebar and the name of this lake was named after him.Maharana Jaisingh later named this magnificent lake Jaisamand after his known name which means 'Ocean Of Victory' It is an Second Largest Asia's Artificial Lake covering an area of 36 sq km Jaisamand Island resort is a getaway resort here serving local getaway seekers.It is about 50 km about from Udaipur central city. Hawa Mahal and Ruthi Rani Ka Mahal are the summer palaces of the Queens is surrounded  by Jaisamand Lake on all four sides. by Jaisamand The courtyard of the palace has a pavillion ,built with 12 pillars. Jaisamand lake is spread an over area of 36 sq miles (93 Km2).The Jaisamand Lake is 14 km in length ,9km in wide and 102 feet deep. A colossal dam is constructed on the lake which is 1202 feet in length 116 feet in height and 70 feet wide with a temple of Lord Shiva in the centre.On the river embankment ,you can witness two stunning features of jaisamand lake dam which are the six chatri or astonishing cenotaphs and a temple of Narmadeshwar Swaroop Of Lord Shiva. A significant carved elephant figure is installed with its trunk turned upwards.Jaisamand Island Resort is one of the most expensive and luxurious hotel resorts found in Asia 


➤History Of Jaisamand Lake:-
After 1950 two canals namely shyampura and bhat were constructed for the purpose of irrigation. The lake consists of 7 big and small islands which are inhabited by meenas and bheels.The largest island is called baba ka bhagda and the smaller one is called pyari.Oudian and palaces are built over this lake.On one island ,a hotel Iceland resort has been built in the 17 century. It is the second largest human made lake in India.The lake was constructed in 1685 AD under the reign of Maharana Jai Singh.The purpose of the lake was to build a marble dam across the river Gomti. On the day of the inauguration of the dam,Maharana Jai Singh distributed gold worth his weight to the people of his kingdom.Before the construction of Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar, Jaisamand Lake was the most prominent artificial lake on the globe until 1902.

Clean Lake :Unlike other places in udaipur it is comparatively very clean lake ever.Also, since it is located bit away from tourist site.You will find less people which is very good lovely lake that's clean and away from hustle and bustle of the city.
